Al Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana, has publicly expressed its disappointment regarding the recent developments involving two of its doctors, who have become significant suspects in a major investigation linked to a deadly blast in Delhi. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Bhupinder Kaur Anand, issued a statement conveying the institution's sorrow over these events while clarifying that the university maintains only a professional relationship with the involved doctors.
The university, established in 1997, is recognized by the University Grants Commission and has been offering various academic and professional courses since its inception. It has trained undergraduate MBBS students since 2019, with graduates now occupying important roles in healthcare across India and internationally. The statement underscored the university's commitment to its educational responsibilities and the performance of its graduates.
In light of the ongoing investigation, which has seen multiple security agencies probing the university's connections to the incident, including the arrest of doctor Umar Mohammad, who is suspected of sparking the blast near Red Fort, the university has reiterated its position. It clarified that its laboratories are designated solely for educational purposes, adhering strictly to safety protocols and ethical standards. Additionally, the administration denounced unfounded claims circulated by online platforms that aim to tarnish the university's reputation.
The admittance of the two detained doctors does not imply any illicit activity associated with the university’s operations, the statement emphasized, urging the public and media to verify information through official channels before dissemination. In a further call for responsible communication, the university lamented the impact of unverified reports on its standing and expressed solidarity with the victims of the tragic event.
Al Falah University remains committed to its educational mission, stressing the importance of integrity and transparency in these challenging times as it continues to cooperate with the investigation to clarify any misunderstandings surrounding its role and reputation.
