Reports indicate that Vignesh, reportedly under the influence of drugs, entered the residence, locked the door from the inside, and assaulted the woman. The situation escalated when the victim's mother returned home and discovered the door bolted shut. After persistent knocking yielded no response, she managed to open the door, only to find her daughter naked and the accused trying to flee the scene clad in only his undergarments. The commotion drew the attention of local residents, who intervened and apprehended Vignesh. He was subjected to severe beatings by the onlookers before the authorities arrived on the scene. Subsequently, the police took custody of the accused and filed charges against him under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including those pertaining to sexual harassment and house-trespass.
